USAAIO organizes the USA-North America AI Olympiad (USA-NA-AIO) for K-12 students in the U.S. and Canada.

By organizing Team USA for the IOAI and IAIO, USAAIO enables the United States to be a founding country of these two international Olympiads.

The USA-North America AI Olympiad (USA-NA-AIO) is a young Olympiad competition. We understand that people have many questions about it, so we aim to address their concerns using a Q&A format.

Question: What are the eligibility requirements to participate in USA-NA-AIO?

Be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident, or a full-time middle/high school student studying in the U.S. or Canada.

Be under 20 years old by August 30 in the competition year.

Must not be a full-time university student in the competition year.
Question: Is USA-NA-AIO used to select U.S. teams to represent the U.S. to participate in international level AI Olympiads?​​

Answer: Yes. USA-NA-AIO is the only pathway for a student to qualify for Team U.S.
