USAAIO organizes the USA-North America AI Olympiad (USA-NA-AIO) for K-12 students in the U.S. and Canada.

By organizing Team USA for the IOAI and IAIO, USAAIO enables the United States to be a founding country of these two international Olympiads.

The USA–North America AI Olympiad (USA-NA-AIO) is a relatively new competition. We understand that many people have questions about it, so we aim to address common concerns in a Q&A format.

Answer: The USAAIO organizes and runs the USA–North America AI Olympiad (USA-NA-AIO).
Question: What are the eligibility requirements to participate in USA-NA-AIO?
Answer:

Be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident, or a full-time middle or high school student studying in the U.S. or Canada.

Be under 20 years old by August 30 of the competition year.

Not be a full-time university student during the competition year.
Question: Is USA-NA-AIO used to select U.S. teams to represent the United States in international AI Olympiads?
Answer: Yes. The USA-NA-AIO is the only pathway for students to qualify for Team USA.
